Sorry I missed all the fun (is a very sad Molly)...  Maybe we can all go find sushi when i can get around again?

kritterfox and i need a new coffee maker.  ours died a tragic death some months ago and try as i might to get over it, i'm missing it more and more as the mornings get colder. now i need help.  there's so many out there i don't know where to begin.  we need something that's 10-12 cups, brews pretty quickly, and would probably like to spend less than $30. not that it matters, but we have a grinder (got it for a wedding present and have yet to use it). 
any thoughts on what brand or what type?  i assume we want automatic drip, but what about permanent filters?  any thoughts?  neither of us are real coffee nazis, we just like to drink a little every now and then and would like it to not suck.

anyone want to get me a "post surgery able to walk again cleaning frenzy" present?  i know it's going to happen if it ever comes to pass...

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo detailed plans for future lands, attractions and adventures that will be delighting Disney guests for years to come, at the first D23 Expo. Most notable among the announcements were the confirmation of an all-new Star Tours attraction and the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

"Storytelling is the DNA of Disney dreams and we're always exploring new ways to tell new stories in new places," Rasulo told a crowd at the Anaheim Convention Center in California before taking them on a "behind-the-magic" tour of their favorite Disney destinations.

Rasulo announced that a new 3-D version of the tremendously-popular "Star Tours" attraction will debut at the Disneyland Resort and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2011. Based on the iconic Lucasfilm "Star Wars" films, the attraction will include immersive new elements that will take guests to many familiar places in the Star Wars galaxy.

For Walt Disney World in Florida, Rasulo outlined plans for the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom, vastly increasing the size of Fantasyland by 2013. Guests will soon be able to:

* Visit their favorite Disney Princess in her castle, cottage, or chateau to share a dance with Cinderella; celebrate Sleeping Beauty's birthday with the Good Fairies; or join Belle in an enchanting story performance in the Beast's castle library.
* Be Our Guest and dine in one of three enchanted rooms inside the Beast's castle.
* Fly with Dumbo high above brand new circus grounds, twice the size of the existing attraction with a new interactive, three-ring circus tent.
* Journey under the sea with Ariel, The Little Mermaid, in her very own attraction - also opening at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim in 2011.
* Meet Tinker Bell and her friends in the magical world of Pixie Hollow.

wow... has it really been 8 years since i lived i cote d'ivoire?  Sometimes it seems like it never happened - it's rather strange to think i was in the peace corps...

Chris and I are in need of someone with a truck for a short time on Saturday to pick up our new chair at Value City about a mile from our apartment and bring it back here (and maybe help haul it up a flight of stairs please)... the back comes off, so it shouldn't be too difficult to carry up and they'll load it at the store.  We can pick it up any time between 9am and 8pm*... please please please?
If no one has a truck, I'm pretty sure that we can get it in two pieces into my car, but we would still very much appreciate help getting it up the stairs as I'm pretty much useless.

Please let either Chris or myself know if you'd be willing to help us with truck or carrying!  THANKS!

* I work from 9-4 Saturday, but Chris can do the chair thing at any time you can be available!

for those of you who don't read chris's LJ, i had an emergency appendectomy very early this morning/late last night.  all went well and i'm now at home.  in a lot of pain, with a migraine, and can't get comfy, but i'm home.  more later.

got to catch up on sleep finally!  *just* woke up...
AND my old navy bras were shipped today! 
now for shower and more nothing.

The sheer beauty of Pachelbel's Cannon can always make me tear up, without fail.  If I had walked down an aisle on my wedding day, it would have been to that...

there's been a weird noise in the bedroom since we got home last night and it's been bothering me all day. kritterfox  said it just sounded like water running through something, but i think it sounds more metallic.  it just occurred to me exactly what it sounds like... a smaller version of the background noise in the school (or hospital, i can't remember which) in the original 'silent hill' game. 
now i'm just waiting for the bizarre little see-though ghostie things to come nom me.

i seem to have stumbled (quite literally) upon a whole new level of pain.  how wonderful!

To get out of bed and be blindsided by all of this on LJ... I didn't know Furp as well as some, but I knew he was a good man and my friend (and he made a mean slurm).  He will be missed so very dearly by so many.  It just doesn't seem possible...
There are no words right now.

chris and i just walked upstairs (well, i crawled, chris walked) and toured one of the two bedrooms available for rent.  if we move when our lease is up in june, we'll be able to change for free - so i think we're going to do it.  the extra storage space and living space would be wonderful, and the layout is pretty decent.  they told us that when the time comes, they'll even look around the general buildings we're already located around so it's not too much of a move, and we should know about two months before hand if an apartment will be available (there's lots right now, but if we change apartments before our lease is up it would be $500 in transfer fees).

so, if people could possibly start saving some boxes and newspapers for us, we would appreciate it and can come pick them up whenever... as soon as we know when it'll happen (hopefully it WILL happen), i'll probably ask for help packing and cleaning as well.  we will be hiring movers to get things out of this apartment and into the new one (hey, ohana - who did you guy use and were they reasonable?)

yays for more space!!!

and it is done.  a new age has begun - one of hope - more hope and than i've felt in so many years. 
we have to understand that it will not be easy or fast, but it will come. so very very happy - and for the first time in too many years to count, i am not embarrassed to be from this country.

it's not even 10 and i've already been up, washed up in the sink (i am soo looking forward to taking a real shower again) - sadly, washing my hair will have to wait until i have someone esle around to help. i then put on clean clothes, braved the narrow passage way to the blinds to open them, ate breakfast, almost fell off the bed, and then posted to my classes... and now... now i wonder why i rushed through everything this morning as i sit here 1/2 asleep the rest of the day.
